License renewal
Arkansas real estate license renewal and CE
Renewals are handled by the Arkansas Real Estate Commission (AREC). Summary checked against the official sources in October 2026.
Renewal cycle
All Arkansas licenses expire December 31 each year. The salesperson renewal fee is $60 on or before September 30 and $80 after.
Continuing education
- 7 hours of CE every year to renew an active license for the next calendar year.
- Make sure your CE is reported by the deadline; that is your responsibility. One course cannot count for both CE and pre-license education.
First renewal
- New salespersons complete the 18-hour AREC post-license course by the end of the month 6 months after initial licensure (licensed January 15 means done by the end of July).
- If you are licensed in the current year, annual CE first applies at your second active renewal.
Late or expired
- With no CE on record the license is placed on inactive status, and activating it costs $30.
