License renewal
Delaware real estate license renewal and CE
Renewals are handled by the Delaware Real Estate Commission (Division of Professional Regulation). Summary checked against the official sources in October 2026.
Renewal cycle
All Delaware real estate licenses expire April 30 of even years and renew every 2 years in DELPROS. Renewal notices go out by email a few months before; you attest to your CE, and some licensees are randomly audited. Your broker of record must renew first.
Continuing education
- 21 hours of approved CE in each full renewal period (May 1 to April 30 of even years), based on the required module course contents.
- Inactive licenses renew without CE, but reactivating requires proof of CE.
First renewal
- New salespersons (not by reciprocity) complete 12 hours of new salesperson modules within 90 days of licensure: 3 hours each in professional standards, agreement of sale and buyer representation, documents and seller representation, and professionalism. These are in addition to renewal CE.
- First renewal CE depends on your issue date: 18 hours if issued May 1 to Oct 31 of an even year, 12 hours from Nov 1 to Apr 30 of an odd year, 6 hours from May 1 to Oct 31 of an odd year, 0 from Nov 1 to Dec 31 of an odd year and 21 from Jan 1 to Apr 30 of an even year.
Late or expired
- You can file a late renewal with a late fee up to 30 days after expiration, but you cannot practice until it is renewed, and late renewals are audited for CE.
- After the 30-day late period the license cannot be renewed; apply for reinstatement in DELPROS.
