License guide

How to get a Delaware real estate license

Delaware licenses real estate professionals through the Delaware Real Estate Commission (Division of Professional Regulation). Here is the path in plain steps, checked against the official sources in October 2026.

Step by step

  1. Complete the 99-hour course

Finish the 99-hour Delaware salesperson pre-licensing course and keep the certificate.

  2. Pass both exams

Pass the general and Delaware law portions of the salesperson exam with Pearson VUE. Apply for the license after you pass.

  3. Line up a Broker of Record

Your employing Delaware broker of record signs the Statement of Broker of Record form. If the office is in Delaware, it must have an active office permit.

  4. Apply in DELPROS

Apply and pay online in DELPROS, uploading the course certificate, your Pearson VUE score report and the broker form. You have 6 months to submit once you start an application. Verifications from any state where you have held a license are sent directly to the Board.

Keeping your license

  • 21 hours of approved CE in each full renewal period (May 1 to April 30 of even years), based on the required module course contents.
  • Inactive licenses renew without CE, but reactivating requires proof of CE.

Questions

Do I need a website on day one?

No, but a simple page with your photo, brokerage and contact info helps clients find you. Property Landing Pages has a free plan with one listing page and an agent site.
