License renewal

Mississippi real estate license renewal and CE

Renewals are handled by the Mississippi Real Estate Commission (MREC). Summary checked against the official sources in October 2026.

Renewal cycle

Mississippi licenses renew every 2 years, with proof of CE due on or before the expiration date. Renewals must include a current email address.

Continuing education

  • At least 16 clock hours of approved coursework per 2-year renewal, of which up to 8 may be required subjects set by the Commission.
  • Extra hours earned in the last 3 months of a period can carry over, up to 6 hours.
  • Licensees 65 or older with at least 25 years licensed in Mississippi are exempt.

First renewal

  • At a first renewal after no more than 1 year licensed, the CE requirement does not apply.

Late or expired

  • Inactive licensees do not need CE, but must make up all missed hours before going active.
