License renewal

Missouri real estate license renewal and CE

Renewals are handled by the Missouri Real Estate Commission. Summary checked against the official sources in October 2026.

Renewal cycle

Missouri salesperson licenses expire September 30 of every even-numbered year (broker type licenses expire June 30). Your broker's license must be renewed before yours can be.

Continuing education

  • 12 hours of Commission-approved CE during the 2-year license period, for active licenses.
  • At least 3 of the 12 hours must be the core course the Commission names on its website by March 31 of each even-numbered year.
  • Check online that your schools reported every course; missing records are your responsibility to fix.

First renewal

  • Original salesperson applications postmarked August 1 through September 30 of an even-numbered year get a license for the next period with no CE or renewal application needed.

Late or expired

  • Late renewals pay a delinquent fee of $50 per month or partial month since expiration, up to $200.
  • If you did not finish CE during the period, you must instead submit the Missouri Real Estate Practice Course completed within the past 6 months.
  • If you miss renewal through the next renewal period too, you must requalify as a new applicant.
