License renewal

Nevada real estate license renewal and CE

Renewals are handled by the Nevada Real Estate Division. Summary checked against the official sources in October 2026.

Renewal cycle

An original Nevada license is valid for 1 year, ending on the last day of the month you got it. After the first renewal, renewals are valid for 2 years. Renewal uses Form 580 and the fee is $195.

Continuing education

  • 36 hours of CE for each 2-year renewal: 3 Agency, 6 Contracts, 3 Ethics, 3 Law and Legislation, 3 Risk Reduction and 18 General.
  • At least 18 of the 36 hours must be live instruction. Proof of completion goes to the Division.
  • Licensees 65 or older with 30 or more years licensed in Nevada in good standing may apply for a reduced 12 hours (Agency, Law and Legislation, Contracts and Ethics, 3 each).

First renewal

  • First renewal: 30 hours of post-licensing education (modules A to O), with proof submitted to the Division.
  • First-time licensees who were already licensed in another state may instead qualify for the regular 36 hours of CE.
