License renewal

New Hampshire real estate license renewal and CE

Renewals are handled by the New Hampshire Real Estate Commission (Office of Professional Licensure and Certification). Summary checked against the official sources in October 2026.

Renewal cycle

New Hampshire licenses run on a 2-year license period and renew online. OPLC emails a courtesy notice 60 days before expiration, and you cannot renew earlier than that. CE is tracked in CE Broker.

Continuing education

  • A 3-hour accredited core course for every renewal, active or inactive.
  • 12 more elective hours to renew active (or to move from inactive to active), completed within the current 2-year license period. All courses must have different course numbers.

First renewal

  • At a salesperson's first renewal, the 12 elective hours must be Commission-designated post-licensing courses, one from each of four approved topics.

Late or expired

  • A late renewal must still show the required CE completed within the prior 2-year period.
  • Expired less than 1 year: reinstate online. More than 1 year: reapply in the portal.
