License renewal
Vermont real estate license renewal and CE
Renewals are handled by the Vermont Real Estate Commission (Office of Professional Regulation). Summary checked against the official sources in October 2026.
Renewal cycle
Vermont licenses renew every 2 years. Renewal opens 6 weeks before the expiration date printed on your license, in the Online Services System, and late renewals are subject to penalties.
Continuing education
- Salespersons complete 16 hours of Commission-approved CE in the preceding 2 years, including the 4-hour mandatory course on legislation and topics the Commission sets.
First renewal
- Complete 8 hours of post-licensure education within 90 days of your license being issued, and show proof at your first renewal.
- Licensees renewing for the first time after less than 2 years do not need the 16 CE hours.
