What is days on market?

Days on market (DOM) is the number of days a listing has been active, usually counted from listing to an accepted contract.

In practice

  • Each MLS defines exactly how it counts days on market.
  • A long DOM can signal pricing or condition issues; a short one, strong demand.

General information, not legal, tax or financial advice. Rules vary by state and MLS.
