License guide
How to get an Oklahoma real estate license
Oklahoma licenses real estate professionals through the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission (OREC). Here is the path in plain steps, checked against the official sources in October 2026.
Step by step
Take the 90-hour pre-license course
Complete an approved 90-hour pre-license salesperson course. Completion is valid for 3 years.
Complete a background check
Schedule fingerprints online with IdentoGO (service code 2B7NR3, $60 paid to IdentoGO). Results reach OREC in about 2 to 3 business days.
Apply online
Apply online with the $35 fee and proof of citizenship or lawful status. Out-of-state applicants designate an Oklahoma registered agent. Online applications are processed within 5 business days.
Pass the exam and get licensed
After approval, Pearson VUE emails you within 48 hours to schedule. The exam is $75 with the booking discount, per attempt. After passing, the provisional sales associate license fee is $100.
Keeping your license
- Resident sales associates: 30 hours, including 13 required hours (6 Contracts and Forms, 3 Professional Conduct, and 1 each of Broker Relationship Act, Code and Rules, Fair Housing and Hot Topic) and 17 hours in any category.
- Non-resident sales associates: 8 hours (1 Broker Relationship Act, 1 Code and Rules, 6 Contracts and Forms), if they hold an active license in another state and meet its CE.
Questions
Do I need a website on day one?
No, but a simple page with your photo, brokerage and contact info helps clients find you. Property Landing Pages has a free plan with one listing page and an agent site.
